64DD Review Index

The Nintendo 64 lost out on a huge amount of third party support by going with cartridges. Upon seeing the results Nintendo opted to release an add-on for the system that would read and write disk based media allowing for much more storage. Unfortunately the hardware was delayed numerous times and developers continually dropped support. They probably worried that the thing would never be released. Eventually Nintendo finally came through, but the 64DD was released only in Japan and only with a handful of games. It never lived up to its potential but has become a collector’s item of sorts for hardcore gamers.
