NEC had great success in the Japanese market with their PC-Engine console. It only made a moderate splash in the rest of the world, but they saw it fit to make a follow-up. This is the PC-FX. Unfortunately in an age of 3D gaming NEC went with a two dimensional powerhouse. The result was that no one really wanted it, and only a few games were ever released for it. Most of these are very inappropriate for the market and the system was never released outside of Japan. It has a few decent titles but the library is so small.
