The Atari 2600 is one of the early successes in the home video game market. It allowed customers to purchase new software in the form of cartridges. Speaking of which developers absolutely flooded the market. Some games were good, but most were bad. This led to the major video game market crash from which we wouldn’t recover until Nintendo released the NES. The Atari 2600 features rudimentary graphics but a lot of really good simple yet addictive games.
